Thank you for visiting my website. I’m a Georgia Licensed Professional Counselor. If you are also a psychotherapist, you’ve come to the right place.

Psychotherapy as a profession is rapidly changing. Many are now seeking LPC licensure in multiple states. Therapists are seeking answers to questions about obtain licenses in other states. Maybe you want to be sure when practicing across state lines, you are doing it legally and ethically. Many are waiting for the Counseling Compact to be implemented. Maybe you are frustrated with Georgia’s LPC, SW and MFT board sending deficiency letters and application denials.

Maybe you need an LPC Supervisor who can ensure you’re on a path to full Georgia LPC licensure.

The proliferation of telemental health presents even more ethical challenges. Your continuing education should provide accurate, practical and current information that you can immediately apply in your counseling practice.

And if you find yourself in an ethics jam, you need to know you have an experienced mental health clinician who can help you resolve ethics dilemmas and de-stress.

You deserve a confident and competent peer who can deliver.

LPC Supervision

Over 20 Years Of Trauma-Informed Clinical Experience

I also bring a full career in treating dissociative disorders, substance use disorders (SUD), personality disorders, suicidality and severe mental illness (SMI). I am an LPCA of Georgia Certified Professional Counselor Supervisor (CPCS) #259 and a National NBCC Approved Clinical Supervisor (ACS)#2159 accepted in 15 states.

An LPC Supervisor That Develops Your Clinical Skills.

  • DSM 5-TR. Competence in diagnosing is usually gained through experience working with a full range of both psychiatric and medically related mental disorders. If you do not have this diagnosis experience or skill, I can help you develop it. Perhaps you wish you felt more confident in diagnosing. We’ll formulate a diagnosis for each client you present in your supervision sessions with me so you can develop a comfortable framework for your clinical work.
  • Psychotherapy with resistant clients. Often resistant clients defy your efforts to help them. I can help you develop a pace and methods for helping these clients while preventing yourself from exhaustion and burnout.
  • Managing suicidal clients. Fortunately, the majority of clients do not follow through on thoughts of suicide. Nonetheless, losing clients to suicide is a struggle that is part of every therapist’s work. I can help you build confidence in accurate assessment of suicidality and prevent you hitting that panic button!
  • I can help you become licensed. Near the top of a counselor APC’s list is having a supervisor who can guide them successfully through the LPC licensing process.  When we wrap up your supervision you will likely understand GA board rules more thoroughly than 85% of licensees–that includes experienced and seasoned licensees.

Privacy

I thoroughly screen interview prospective supervisees so that I know we’re a good match. You will interview me as well so that you have adequate information to make an informed decision about proceeding with our supervision.

Whereas our communications are not legally protected as confidential, names of patients are protected. If you are willing to learn and grow personally and professionally, you will find your supervision to proceed smoothly and be quite enjoyable and mentoring. We will complete the forms you need from me and you’ll be on your way to licensing!

Advanced Ethics Consultations

GA Secretary of State Cox Congratulations Letter

Your first line approach to resolving ethical dilemmas should be peer consultation. But you may still be at a loss for knowing what to do. In fact, having handled many ethics complaints,  just because 10 peers suggest a solution doesn’t mean it’s the correct solution.

Take advantage of my having been privy to and taken disciplinary action against licensees. So, I often can foresee outcomes of ethics violations that other peers cannot anticipate. I will help you arrive at solutions that are both best for you and best protect your license.
