certified Professional Counselor Supervisor- A certified Professional Counselor Supervisor shall ensure that supervisees inform their clients of any status other than being fully licensed or qualified for independent practice. Ensure that supervisees inform clients of clients’ rights to confidentiality and privileged communication when applicable, as well as the limits of confidentiality and privileged communication. Inform supervisees about the process of supervision, including supervision goals, case management procedures, evaluation processes, and the certified Professional Counselor Supervisor’s preferred supervision model. A certified Professional Counselor Supervisor shall also inform supervisees of the certified Professional Counselor Supervisor’s credentials, areas of expertise, and training in supervision.
It is important to note that state licensing boards have their own codes of ethics for maintaining your practice license. Professional association’s ethics are more relevant for retaining that credential.
